Fallen leaves crunched under foot as around fifteen marchers made their way through the University District on Friday evening, Oct. 2, 2020. The marchers were conducting a Walkout For Justice to raise awareness for wrongful convictions.

October 2 is International Wrongful Conviction Day. To acknowledge the day, the Montana Innocence Project and Welcome Back Missoula held events aimed as raising awareness about wrongful conviction and incarceration in Montana.

They started at the Alexander Blewett III School of Law on the University of Montana campus, where the Montana Innocence Project is housed. The group proceeded down Sixth Street and then turned down Higgins Avenue, toward downtown and the Missoula County Courthouse.
