On Friday night, April 12, the University of Montana Grizzlies capped off the regular season with a crushing win, securing the number one seat in the PNCLL north division. Celebrating senior night, the Grizzlies dominated Western Washington at home, 19-3.

The Grizzlies were scheduled to play Seattle University the following day, but the opponents forfeited, making UM 4-0 in its division.

The forfeit also allowed an opportunity for the Grizzlies to celebrate an early end to the regular season with a scrimmage against Team HAF, the University of Montana Alumni Team. According to its website, “HAF stands for Hard as F**k, or Hungover and Fat or Happy and Friendly, really whatever you want it to mean.”

In a not-so-serious, lighthearted, yet still competitive game, the University of Montana Grizzlies played against some fellow Missoulians, old teammates, and their own coaches. Players tried new positions, the goalies ran across the field attempting to score, and coaches squared up against their own players. Team HAF beat the Grizzlies 14-11.

The team also had its end of year banquet Saturday night, April 13. The 2019 Montana Lacrosse MVP Award went to senior defensive midfielder Nolan Davis. The team also took time recognizing Coach Tucker Sargent for being with the program for 10 years.

The PNCLL Conference Championships will be from April 26 through 28 at the Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula.
