The University of Montana Lady Griz beat the Grand Canyon University Antelopes 72-67 at home on Tuesday evening. The Antelopes, currently ranked first in the Western Athletic conference, played the Lady Griz for an out-of-conference game.

Montana dominated the first half, leading by 11 points.

The Lady Griz opened the game scoring a 3-pointer in the first period. University of Montana guard McKenzie Johnston and forward Emma Stockholm were top scorers, leading the Antelopes by 8 points at the end of the period, 13-21. In the second period, the Lady Griz scored an additional 21 points, 42-31 at the half.

Grand Canyon scored 20 points in the third period, and Montana scored 16. University of Montana junior guard Sammy Fatkin closed the period with a 3-pointer. Montana scored an additional 14 points in the closing period, beating Grand Canyon by 5 points.

University of Montana senior guard Emma Stockholm was named the game's top player leading in rebounds and scoring 15 points.

The University of Montana women's basketball team will host the University of Arizona, Sunday 2 p.m. at Dahlberg Arena, Nov. 24, 2019.
