Meditation - not a coup

Well it looks like we have activists out expressing their opinions in Missoula again. If we aren’t arguing about trapping squirrels, then we might as well be judging the ASUM. This is the government body we elected, mind you. We could launch some sort of coup, but let’s just call it a revolution. I personally think more people would sympathize with the word “revolution”. I am sure somewhere on this University we have some individuals that are much better suited for the job.

I figured in this day and age we could have some sort of mediation. In this scenario both sides meet and actually figure out a plan of action. This helps both sides and the problem is solved. That only happens in a perfect world or a Disney movie. Instead of using a thing scientists call a brain, we bicker and argue. We may be getting informed but the problem persists. I like to call these people radicals. They are so obsessed with their cause they do not look at the full picture. We understand the “radicals’” opinion but they actually only serve two purposes in life. The first is we can make fun of them and it puts us in a better mood. The second purpose is they damage their cause by looking foolish. They usually will do anything to win.

I hope this encourages you to look at both sides of an argument. Most likely as a poor college student you will just read this and write it off as propaganda because that is what I would I do. Well I had better go trap me some squirrels. It’s lunch-time…

Fred Stapleton humbly suggests that students get on a waiting list or a lottery system that, if they want to live off campus as freshman and the system is overcrowded, then they be randomly selected to do so.

Overcrowding is perennial. And there are ALWAYS freshmen who want to move off campus no matter how stupid that might seem. So why not get those kids out of the dorm and free up the damn study lounges?

Well i am disappointed in the construction but it sounds beneficial. Actually it was my Native American studies professor, Mrs. Juneau, who taught us that there was no perception of land ownership.
