Jan. 17 7:30 p.m. Engstrom promised to "aggressively" fight against sexual assaults on campus and in Missoula at a community forum attended by more than 100 people, including the mayor, chief of police, city council members, Griz athletes and student senators. Read the Kaimin's coverage of the forum. Engstrom said a similar forum will be hosted on campus Wed. Jan. 25 and students will receive the exact time and place by University email.

Jan. 3 4:30 p.m. UM released it's initial report of the investigation and a press release saying the team has "interviewed more than 30 witnesses to date, including students, coaches, student-athletes, administrators and members of the public." The press release also said Vice President of Student Affairs Teresa Branch will launch new sexual violence awareness classes when school resumes Jan. 23.

Dec. 19 11 p.m. The Missoula Police Department said the report of one woman who spoke about being attacked at party early this month could be linked to separate attacks on the UM campus, reported the Missoulian. Vice President Jim Foley told the Kaimin that UM began the investigation because of an on campus case but is looking at the potential use of date rape drugs and sexual assault campus wide. He wouldn't speculate on how UM would respond the investigation's conclusions. No charges have been filed in any incident so far.

Dec. 16 2:30 p.m. The Billings Gazette reports that a woman who spoke with Missoula detectives said she woke up the morning after a party and thought she'd been physically, not sexually, assaulted, but she couldn't remember any specific incident. In a press release, President Royce Engstrom promised immediate action under the Student Code of Conduct once the events can be substantiated.

Dec. 16 12:00 p.m. Diane Barz, the retired state justice conducting the investigation, will be paid $150 an hour plus actual expenses by UM for her work on the case, said UM legal counsel David Aronofsky.

Dec. 16 10:30 a.m. Athletic Director Jim O'Day's assistant told the Kaimin he would not be commenting on the case and all comments would need to come from Vice President Jim Foley.

Dec. 16 6:15 a.m. The Missoulian reports that an anonymous source alleges three Grizzly football players were the assailants in the case. The same source had spoken to the Missoula Police Department Thursday, but at the time no complaint had yet been filed. UM administrators again did not return calls from the Missoulian or Kaimin.

Dec. 15 6:15 a.m. The Missoulian reports that UM has hired a former state Supreme Court justice to "review allegations of a recent sexual assault on campus that reportedly involved two female students, multiple male students and the date-rape drug Rohypnol." The paper also reported that UM has instructed the former justice to wrap-up her investigation before the semester's end as well as that no connected complaints had yet been filed to the Missoula Police Department or Campus Safety. UM administrators failed to return calls by the Missoulian and the Kaimin.
