University of Montana softball brought the game back to Missoula, playing at home for the first time this spring in a three-game series against the Utah Valley University wolverines. The Griz started strong, winning two games on March 16, 2019, but dropped the third to the Wolverines on March 17. 

The first game of the weekend was close, the Griz taking the victory 5–4, with most of the both team's runs coming in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. 

They dominated the second game, winning 10–3 and earning 7 points in the 4th inning alone. Those two games were the first time in 27 games that the Griz won back-to-back games.

The third game saw a comeback for the Wolverines, who scored 6 points in the first inning of the game, and 6 more through the game for a total of 12, topping the Griz 12–8. 

Overall, these results move the Griz to  7 victories and 21 losses. They will play at home next weekend in a three game series against the University of Nevada, running from March 21–23.
